Who we are

Blacklemur Innovations is a creative technology company based at 33 Argyle Road, Avondale, Harare, operating in Zimbabwe and across Southern Africa. We process personal data as the data controller for the purposes below. For any question, email info@blacklemur.co.zw.

What we collect

Four categories, each with a clear reason:

  • Enquiry and form data — name, email, phone, company and message from our start-a-project or contact forms, used solely to respond to you and deliver the work agreed.
  • Communication data — records of email or WhatsApp conversations you choose to have with us, used to manage our relationship.
  • Analytics data — anonymised browsing information via Google Analytics (GA4, G-ST8L151ZCH): pages visited, device type, approximate region. This does not identify you personally and is used to improve the site.
  • Technical data — IP address and browser information needed to serve the site and keep it secure.

Content you share with us

Documents, briefs and business information you send while scoping a project are treated as confidential and used only to deliver the agreed work. We do not publish or reuse client material without written permission, and we agree project listings and testimonials with you before they appear anywhere.

We process personal data where it is necessary to respond to your enquiry, to perform a contract with you, to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate interests in running a secure and well-measured website. Where we rely on consent — such as analytics cookies or marketing — you can withdraw it at any time.

Third parties

  • Netlify hosts this website and processes standard server logs.
  • Google Analytics (GA4, G-ST8L151ZCH) helps us understand usage. Controlled by your cookie preferences.
  • WhatsApp carries conversations when you choose that channel.
  • Email providers carry the messages you send us.

We never sell or rent personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising profiling without consent.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies to keep the site working and analytics cookies to improve it. Manage or withdraw your choices anytime via our Cookie Policy.

Email marketing

Newsletters are only sent to addresses that have consented, and every message includes a clear unsubscribe. We do not add enquiry contacts to mailing lists without asking first.

Retention

Enquiry data is kept only as long as needed to respond and manage the relationship. Client project data is retained for the engagement and as long as legitimate business or legal obligations require. You can always ask us to delete or restrict your data.

Your rights

In line with Zimbabwe's data protection framework, which includes the Protection of Personal Information Act, and good international practice, you may ask us to:

  • confirm what personal data we hold about you;
  • receive a copy of that data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete data we no longer need;
  • object to legitimate-interest processing; and
  • withdraw consent at any time.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — access controls, secure storage and secure-by-default builds for client systems. No transmission is completely secure, and you help by keeping credentials and sensitive messages safe on your side.

We may update this policy as our services or the law evolve. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version. Significant changes are highlighted on this page and in our communication with clients.
